Helsinki's Playgrounds and Play Parks Showcased

The Little Helsinki series of playgrounds and play parks presents Helsinki's playgrounds and play parks with photos and information, making it easy to visit an unfamiliar park and find one that suits your family's needs. The series' first play parks with photos appeared on the site in July 2017, and the project continues well into next year.

Helsinki has 69 play parks, where supervised activities are organized on weekdays in outdoor and indoor spaces. The list of play parks also includes the city’s family centers. Play parks are open to all children and families with children, and for preteens, play parks offer after-school clubs and holiday programs. In the evenings and on weekends, the parks’ outdoor areas are available for free play. Play parks’ indoor spaces are also available to rent for occasions such as children’s birthday parties.

Playgrounds without supervised activities number over 200 in Helsinki. The city’s playgrounds are maintained by the Urban Environment Division (formerly the Building Authority).
