Pienen Helsinki has gathered event highlights from the perspective of children and families from Helsinki City Cultural Centers' spring children's cultural programming. The programs include at least circus, concerts, workshops, exhibitions, theater, dance productions, and much more for little culture and art enthusiasts.
It's worth exploring the cultural centers' programming now, as some events sell out early and some require advance registration.
Spring 2020 Children's Cultural Highlights
"Annantalo celebrates the diversity of everyday life in spring!"
Exhibition: Everyone at Home – Exhibition about the diversity of everyday life and families at Annantalo Art Gallery February 6, 2020 – May 14, 2020. Open during Annantalo's opening hours.
Art Clinics continue at Annantalo in spring 2020 as well! At the Art Clinics, 3–6-year-olds create art with changing themes together with their own adult. Free admission.
Toddler Cinema offers film experiences at Annantalo on Fridays at 10am. Free admission, designed for 0–3-year-olds with their own adult.
Open Studio for Toddlers Workshops February 4–April 30, 2020 at Caisa Cultural Center. Workshops on Tuesdays 1:30pm–3:30pm and Thursdays 10am–12pm. You can attend for the full time or just drop in for a bit. No advance registration needed. Age recommendation: 1.5–3-year-olds with their own adult.
"Malmitalo's colorful spring program has something for everyone!"
Megamuskari takes over Annantalo's festival hall on Sunday, February 16, 2020 and March 29, 2020 at 1pm. Tickets 6 €. Register in advance!
Astra - Contemporary Circus Performance for children at Caisa Cultural Center February 19–22, 2020. Tickets 10 €/ 6 €. The performance is recommended for 5–12-year-olds.
Shrove Sunday Carnival Circus Event in Stoa's courtyard on Sunday, February 23, 2020, 12pm–3pm. Free admission.
Visual Art Adventure at Kanneltalo in the Youth Center's Värkkäämö space on Thursdays, February 27–March 19, 2020, 10am–1pm. The weekly Visual Art Adventure is a visual arts course run by Northern Helsinki Art School for 3–6-year-olds with their own adult. Free admission, no advance registration needed.
Leap Day Festivities at Malmitalo on February 29, 2020, 1pm–3pm. Some workshops require advance registration. Free admission.
Collegium & KATVE [blind spot]: A Bird Named Agata a stage performance for children combining contemporary dance and baroque music at Kanneltalo on March 4, 2020 at 6pm and March 7, 2020 at 2pm. Tickets 6 €.

The Magic of Circus! Circus for Toddlers at Stoa on Wednesdays, March 11–April 29, 2020, 10:15am–11am. Age recommendation 0–2-year-olds who have started crawling or walking, with their own adult. Free admission. Register in advance, limited places!

Drawing from the themes of the Vieno Motors exhibition, the Coast Guard Lullaby Workshop in Vuotalo's lobby on Saturday, March 21, 2020, 1pm–3pm. Children under 7 with an adult. Free admission, no advance registration needed.

Annantalo Spring Festivities where children and young people practicing performing arts take the stage March 27–May 12, 2020. The program will be finalized during spring. Performances have free admission.

Children's Music Ensemble Mutaveijarit at Malmitalo on March 28, 2020 at 1pm and 3pm (sold out). Tickets 6 €. Pienen Helsinki recommends purchasing tickets in advance, as this sells out very quickly.
Moomin Concert led by Benny Törnroos & Haff Orchestra at Vuotalo on April 4, 2020 at 12pm (in Swedish) and 3pm (in Finnish). Tickets 10.50 / 8.50 €.
I Wish I Lived on the Moon - Recitation Performance at Stoa on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at 1pm and 3pm. Tickets 15 €/ 12 €. Age recommendation 4–8-year-olds.
Diaper People Carnival at Malmitalo on Sunday, April 26, 2020, 10am–2pm. Free admission.
