Events for the first week of October

What child-friendly activities can be found in Helsinki? Where to go with small children on weekends? What to do on a rainy day? The Little Helsinki weekly series searches for activity tips and recommends child-friendly places in Helsinki and the surrounding area. The target audience of the website is children under school age.

The first week of October offers children’s cultural events and physical activities for little ones. As usual, the program includes library story times, story yoga and rhyme sessions for babies. Additionally, there are plenty of activity tips for neighboring cities: Espoo is hosting the Kutitus festivals, Sipoo has children’s music events throughout the week, and Vantaa offers cultural programs for children.

Playgrounds and family centers continue their weekly programs, and parks offer activities in the mornings for babies, toddlers, and parents with children at home. The indoor facilities of playgrounds are available to families even when there are no organized activities. Feel free to step in and ask the staff for more information!

Starting now, Little Helsinki highlights events especially suitable for babies and parents with the text FOR BABIES in the event listing, when the nature of the event is baby-friendly. The goal is to encourage activities and hobbies with babies and to celebrate Baby Day.
