What fun activities suitable for children can you find in Helsinki? Where to go with small children on weekends? What to do on a rainy day? Little Helsinki's weekly series searches for activity tips and recommends child-friendly places in Helsinki and the surrounding area. The target audience on the website is preschool-age children and families with children.
Where to go this week -article continues to be published with a slightly modified concept. The article lists the highlights of the week's events and the most interesting activity tips of the week. It also includes highlights from Little Helsinki's new articles and news. The future of the site remains open, but we'll continue with this concept for spring.

NEW: Family City Routes
Little Helsinki will publish a new type of city tourism concept in the coming months when catering student Heidi Säynätkari creates city routes for families in a few Helsinki neighborhoods as her final project. Children's Island Adventure on Hara Island off Kaivopuisto on Sunday 12 pm-2 pm. The island adventure is aimed at 4-10 year olds. The ferry to Hara Island leaves from Kaivopuisto's Ullanlinnan dock (Ehrenströmintie 3) and a round trip ticket costs €5 for adults, €2 for children and seniors (card payment only). A community garden is being established at Annantalo courtyard in 2019. Yard activities begin Wednesday, May 8, 2019. Gardening work days continue on Wednesdays throughout the summer and early fall until September 20, 2019. The community garden is truly Helsinki's own garden, where anyone can enjoy the care and harvest. At Annantalo's courtyard and the A•stage located there activities mainly aimed at children, teenagers and families are organized from May through mid-September.

Linnanmäki has opened its gates again for the 2019 season. Opening carnivals continue until May 12, 2019. There is free admission to the amusement park area and little daredevils have access to free rides. During the opening carnivals, Lintsilla also has lots of entertainment.

Little Helsinki as an app on your phone!
Little Helsinki now also works as a PWA app. You can install Little Helsinki on your Android or iPhone by simply opening the page in Chrome or Safari browser and selecting the share button to "Add to home screen". A PWA app differs from a traditional app in that it doesn't need to be separately installed from the App Store or similar. Practically, the content is exactly the same as in a browser, but the page loads faster.
Little Helsinki does not require registration to work now, and never will.
