Playgrounds' Summer Meals 2022

During summer 2022, Helsinki City will also offer free summer lunches for children and youth under 16 at the playgrounds. Playground meals this year start on the first day of school holidays for school children on 6.6.2022 and end on 10.8.2022.

On the first summer holiday day for school children, the 80th playground summer meals season begins. Helsinki offers free lunch for children and youth under 16 at open playgrounds on weekdays at 12 o'clock during 6.6.-10.8.2022.

This year you'll need to bring your own deep plate, cutlery and drink. The lunch menu features various soups and stews, so for example your own bread is a good addition to lunch.

You don't need to register in advance to participate in the meals, and lunch is served at all open playgrounds in Helsinki (except Loru playground, which does not have summer meals). It's good to arrive on time as food is limited. Note that some playgrounds are closed for part or even the entire summer, so you should check the status of your local playground from the summer activities map below.
