Summer Theaters in Summer 2017

In August there's still time to catch a summer theater show with children. Child-oriented summer theater performances can be found throughout the capital region and in Helsinki as well.

However, note that you should check the performance times on the theater's website, as changes are possible.

On Tuesday, August 1st, 2017 at 6 PM, Rajasusi Collective’s The Mister Wolf’s Magical Machine theater performance will be shown at the Lapinlahti Spring. Tickets 7 € for children, 10 € for adults. Sea Adventure Musical at Mustasaari Activity Center on Seurasaari Island has its premiere on Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017 at 3 PM. Other performance times are August 3rd at 11:30 AM, August 5th at 11:30 AM and 3 PM, and August 6th at 11:30 AM. The performance lasts about 30 minutes and is recommended for ages 3-6. Free admission to the performance, Mustasaari ferry fee (cash). More information about Mustasaari Activity Center here.

Theatre Tuike’s Under Water is a silent puppet theater performance shown at Tuikesali in Tapiola (Viertolantie 2). The performance is suitable for ages 3 and up and lasts about 40 minutes without an intermission. The final summer performances are August 11th at 6 PM, August 12th at 3 PM, and August 13th at 3 PM. Mister Hakkarainen’s Great Sports Performance is shown at Puotila Summer Theater in Puotila Manor Park. The performance is suitable for ages 3 and up. The performance lasts about 45 minutes. Tickets 12 €. More information about Puotila Summer Theater here.

Risto Räppääja and the Wild Machine play runs at Taivallahti Summer Theater in Töölö throughout August. Tickets 15 €. More information about Taivallahti Summer Theater here.

Känkkäränkkä and the Wailing Little Brother is shown at Tervasaari Summer Theater in Kruunuhaka. The performance is suitable for everyone from babies to seniors, but the target audience is ages 2-10. Tickets 14 € (also family tickets available). More information about Tervasaari Summer Theater here. The performance is produced by HIT Mini.

Uppo-Nalle and Brave Reeta is the summer performance at Tikkurila Summer Theater in Vantaa. The performance is recommended for ages 4 and up and lasts about two hours with intermissions. Straw Hat, Blanket Feet and the Rubens Brothers have adventures at Taaborinvuori Summer Theater in Nurmijärvi. Tickets 25 €/adults and 15 €/children. The final summer performance is August 3rd, 2017. More information about Taaborinvuori Summer Theater here.
