Mid and Late Summer Highlights for Little Ones Under Helsinki's Roofs

From July to September, Helsinki has numerous events suitable for children. Most of the events are free, but the list also includes a few paid activity tips. The listing is updated weekly.

Update: The listing has also been expanded to include a few events outside Helsinki, which have a lot of programming for children and are located at most about an hour’s travel from Helsinki.

Seal Spotting

The seal statues, designed by Stefan Lindforss and decorated by various Finnish artists, are spread all around Helsinki for everyone's enjoyment, and finding all forty seals among the hustle and bustle of the city is quite a task. Fortunately, you don't need to spot them all in one day, and tips on their locations can be found here. Little Helsinki challenges everyone to seal spotting! Spot one or more artworks and share your photos of the spotted rascals on Instagram. #spotaseal #hejhylje. More information about the project promoting Baltic Sea conservation here. The seals are hiding around Helsinki through the late summer.
