Where are Halloween events held and what kind of events are organized, and what to do on All Saints' Day in Helsinki and the metropolitan area with children? And how to celebrate Kekri with children?

Pienten Helsinki's late autumn themed article lists Halloween, Kekri and All Saints' Day activities and events in Helsinki and the surrounding area with children. It also includes a few tips from outside the capital region. The "trick or treat" style Halloween celebration has arrived rapidly in Finland in recent years, and this year this frighteningly fun celebration is officially celebrated on Friday, October 31st, 2025. In Finland, Halloween celebration is divided between the official day and the weekend before it, as well as All Saints' Day.
All Saints' Day is celebrated on Saturday, November 1st, 2025. Events celebrating Kekri, the end-of-harvest festival, are also organized at the same time.

The article's cover image and other illustrations are from Salo's Pumpkin Park.

In Helsinki and the metropolitan area:

Pienten Suomi's tips for traveling a bit further:

  • Tammisaari: Great Pumpkin Hunt in Old Tammisaari on Friday, October 24, 2025, 4 PM-7 PM. Free admission.
    - On Friday, the playpark that was undergoing renovation also opens, perhaps Lion Park in Tammisaari's most unique playspace!
  • PorvooNight of Ghosts in Porvoo's old town on Friday, 5 PM-10 PM. Free admission.
Also remember: Children's Art Hall at Porvoo Art Hall in Art Factory premises from September 12, 2025 to January 13, 2026. Open according to Art Hall hours. Free admission.
  • Salo: Pumpkin Weeks in the Salo region October 10-26, 2025.
  • Rannikon Puutarha's Pumpkin Park in Halikko is truly an experience! Pumpkin Park closes on Sunday, October 26, 2025, and the event ends with fireworks.
It's worth taking advantage of parking instructions and, for example, the free bus from Salo to the park, as the area is very crowded, especially in the evenings, and the streets and parking lots are congested. The event is in a field, so this should be considered when choosing footwear.
